Courageous Advocacy
'Courageous advocacy’, enables pupils and our school community to develop a greater awareness of the challenges others face in life and how they, as individuals, can support causes and make a difference.
At Orchard, we want to support and encourage our children to become courageous advocates, not just locally but nationally and globally.
We teach our pupils that it is important to help others. We teach this in many ways, through our values, by links to the Bible, other faiths and as well as learning about other courageous advocates. We want our children to have the confidence to discuss issues, to challenge injustice and engage in activities that can bring about change.
It is important for our pupils to appreciate their roles as part of a community, to take responsibility and to foster an understanding of their importance, impact and influence in the world.
In recent years we have carried out a range of different fundraising to support many good causes, some of which include:
- Sports Relief
- NSPCC
- Comic Relief
- Children in Need
- Macmillan
- The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
- Lutterworth Food Bank
- Lifting Children's Hopes
