Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to give the children at Orchard a broad and balanced education that meets the needs of the children, giving them the skills, knowledge and understanding to prepare them for life.
Our curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum as well as providing our children with experiences and opportunities which best meet the learning intentions within our school.
We follow whole school topics which have been carefully planned by all teachers to ensure children build upon prior knowledge and build upon different skills each year. Each subject leader has created progression ladders to ensure that the children make rapid and sustained progress over the years in a range of skills.
Pupils have opportunities to share their learning with each other, parents/carers and other members of the community through performances, class assemblies and via our online learning platform ‘Seesaw.’
